Good product for ICF's building...,
July 22, 2009
By Vlatva

"I bought one of these for a construction project using ICF's. I found it very helpful and strong enough to handle the job. I bent mainly 1/2'' rod and it worked without effort, but you better be prepared and eat a full breakfast if you plan on bending 5/8'' rod for a whole day. Although it did handle the 5/8'' rod without problems (75 cuts and 150 bends), it is mainly made to bend and cut 1/2'' rod. I would recommend an hydraulic press for extensive bending of anything bigger than 1/2''. But pricewise, you can not beat this bender for small jobs. I liked it very much and it is now a new addition to my tool box."

"A good portable cutter and bender. Not for major construction but works verry well on smaller projects. I liked the portability without the need for power cords."

rebar bender and cutter,
July 3, 2009
By johnschw
from Centuria, Wisconsin
"I purchased this tool for a project that used 3/8 inch rebar. However, the tool would not produce a good 90 degree bend with this thickness. I solved this problem by adding 3/4 inch to the fixed pin (2 1/4 inch diameter bushing with 3/4 inch center hole). I have to bend the rebar to max without the bushing, and then slip the bushing on the pin and complete the bend. This 2 step method gives a good 90 degree bend.
I purchased the tool when it was on sale and there was a free shipping offer, so the price was very reasonable.
It does need to be bolted down to a solid base for ease of operation.
Overall, I am pleased with the operation of the bender (even if I had to make modifications)."

Northern Industrial Rebar Cutter and Bender,
November 20, 2008
By Railbender
from Buckhannon, WV
"The cutter cuts 1/2 rebar easily. It would help if I weighed another 20lbs. (200lbs) to cut the 5/8 rebar, however. After resizing one of the bushings, and replacing the snapring, the bender worked quite well. Even after modifing, it is a good product for the price."

Rebar Cutter and Bender,
November 17, 2008
"I bought the rebar cutter for a project that I was working on, and yes I have a cutting torch and could have easily have got a abrasive chop saw, but I decided to go for this cutter, and bender, one of the plus was the bender, I have a Hickey bender but this is much handier and easier to use in My opinion,
the foundation I was working on had a lot of rebar in it and many of the reinforcement bars had 3 to 5 bends in it, this bender was jsut the ticket for my project, and the cutter was easy to use as well,
I know in the future I will be using it again and again,
I cut my first piece and then used that laid out next to the cutter to make measurements for the following units to be cut,
bending was simple and easy,
I felt the price was more than fair, for the unit,
I mounted the unit I have to a board for more stability , there are places to secure it solidly,
one of the other features I found useful was the small chain and ring to keep the handle in the closed position, made loading and unloading and moving it much safer and easier with the handle secured.
would I buy it again YES."

Industrial rebar cutter and bender,
August 11, 2008
By Boppa
from New Mexico
"It's heavy duty, cuts and bends as advertised. Had to mount it on a 2 X 12 board to make user friendly in the field. To do that had to drill additional holes to mount to board, could have been pre-drilled.
Needs degree marks added to it similar to the way conduit bender do. Otherwise have to eye-ball it in when bending 90's, 45's, etc.
Yes, I would buy again.

Rebar cutter,
August 11, 2008
By hfubulpro
from Richmond, Va.
"This cutter has saved me a lot of money by buying rebar in long lengths and cutting them to the size I need, for anchoring railroad ties. Also, the bender works well for making plant hangers. Great utility tool. Works GREAT."
