Great Compressor,
November 2, 2009

"We have used the 390cc compressor on our service truck for several years. It is bolted to the back of the truck and sits outside in all kinds of weather. Whenever it is needed it starts right up and does its job. No worries, ever. It performs so well that we just bought another one to put on another service truck that we are outfitting. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a tough compressor. It comes with the reliability of a Honda motor and the toughness of NorthStar componentry. You can't go wrong with this one."

Great Price = Food Compressor!,

"I have owned this model compressor for over 18 months now. I have mounted it on my personal mobile mechanic service truck. It starts right up (even in cold weather) with the pull cord within 2 pulls. It is really the best compressor out there for the money. Even when compared to INGERSOLL-RAND = It puts out more CFM & was $400 cheaper when I bought it!! That (in itself) says a lot about the quality of this set up!! It even airs up COMPLETELY from 0 PSI in anout 2 minutes. What else needs to be said here??
The only bad thing about the compressor I have is 2 things. One, the powder coating under the air compressor & engine was not sprayed well & this area is beginning to rust. Two, after running this compressor for a 2 hour straight period (while sanding with a dual action sander) the emergency valves began to leak. All I can think about that is the head gaskets on the compressor have blown or the valves are messed up a little. Mine is set up to kick down at 150 psi & the thing is "venting" out of the emergency valve going back into the compressor.
"Besides these small things, this compressor is worth it wait in gold!""

Great Value,

"I shopped around and this machine offers the best performance for the money.
I mounted it on my mobile welding trailer and it starts and runs great. It easily keeps up with my plasma cutter and I can run any of my high consumption air tools 100%
The machine is very well constructed and I would recommend it to anyone needing a heavy duty compressor.

Great value for money!,

"I purchased this compressor in May 2007 for use in an complete rebuild of a 1994 Toyota Pickup. This compressor has only had one issue (a valve on the compressor failed & was promptly replaced by Northern Tool) and performs beautifully. It has not hiccuped since then, starts easily every time, and is very reliable. I've purchased many tools from Northern & find their name brand equipment to be a great value. I would make one recommendation and that is to be sure you use AT LEAST 1/2" air hose with a MINIMUM of 3/8" fittings/connectors to get the most from the massive output of this beast!"

Graet quality and excellent source of air,

"I bought this to use in my stone quarry to run my air hammers splitting stone. This unit provides plenty of air at all times and also is quite efficient on fuel.\
I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a portable air source that is job site portable.
Well worth the initial expense this has already paid for itself by the amount of product output I have been able to produce.
Northern exceeds my expectations each and every time I order from them and they stand behind their products."

Good Compressor,
January 22, 2008
"I purchased this compressor about two years ago and have several hundred hours on it. This is a great compressor, and I have found no problems with it. I would recommend putting in a inline fuel filter, as the stock filter didn't look very good to me (cheap insurance). This air compressor DOES come with an electric starter that works very well; you just need to wire it to a bettery. If you intend to use it in a pickup, or alongside a portable welder as I do, that's no problem and saves a lot of pull starting."
