Quincy 60-gallon air compressor,
March 16, 2009
"I had a smaller compressor that simply didn't have enough power to run my air tools. At work I have been spoiled by 175 PSI air pressure which makes a heck of a difference over 90 PSI. I looked over several different makes including Quincy and IR--- with the specs for the Quincy sealing the deal. When delivered, the driver was extremely nice and even helped me move it to my basement door which saved me from the hassle of doing it myself. What was also more comforting since I really did not have any experience with a Quincy compressor was that the delivery driver stated that he had worked for a company for many years that serviced compressors--- and of all the ones that he had ever really seen, Quincy was designed and engineered as a rebuildable unit, if you ever needed to. His only recommendation was to run a good synthetic oil and change it every six months and that's it. Other than that, the instructions were detailed and was delivered well protected. Once hooked up and going over their startup procedure prior to starting it everything was in order and WOW it was quiet compared to what I have seen before. Furthermore, I do shutoff the main air valve and the tank will maintain 95% of its pressure for over a week without any problem which means to me that everything is sealing nicely. As expected it runs my tools without a problem and you can't beat the cool blue color of the unit. I know I made the right choice. In the picture you can see that I used some push to fit connectors for the air line which helped isolate the house from any possible vibrations, the rest of it is all copper and all of it was done in 1/2". And yes, I did place it between my hot water heater and HVAC unit!"
