"I have been working on a construction site in Rockland County, New York for the past 4 months. I have been using the DEWALT Cordless Hammerdrill — 18 Volt, XRP Li-Ion, 1/2in. Chuck, Model# DCD970KL on this site. This drill has not faultured or let me down in anyway. It is always ready for the job at hand. The power for hammering into bedrock is unmatched to any or drill used on site. This drill is always the first one grabbed by whoever is in the trailer first. Battery life has been unreal also, up to 5 hours of continuos drilling and/or hammering. I would recommend this to the DIY or the construction worker who doesn't want to waste time getting the job done."

Great hammerdrill plenty of power,

"Great tool, plenty of power. Charger recharges battery in 30 minutes. The hammerdrill is great and overall does everything I need. I still haven't got used to the tool-less chuck design. While it seems to work ok, tightens up pretty well, I still don't like it. Its a little heavy, definitely too heavy for my wife to use. Other than those two complaints, I would buy the tool again. Northern tool prices are competitive with the box stores."

A must Have for anyone,

"Having used this product in more than one industry, from Construction to Farming DeWalt has again surpassed my expectations. I have purchased 3 of these drills at this time and continue to impress workers on my jobs when i grab my "Lil' Cordless Hammer Drill" and boy look out you will hear the comments fly. "Go grab a dozen batteries" Or "Get something corded!" Yet time and time again i finish the job quicker and more efficiently working this this hammer/drill. From doweling in rebar on slabs, or drilling steel posts caps for beams the power and reliability is there as always with DeWalt.
As I said i have three of these and will probably add more as my companies expand. If you comparing to competitors the extra money is always worth it with DeWalt.
The only problem i have came across with this drill is that because there are three settings on the nose of the drill, people who do not know how to work the drill or that three things can twist to achieve your ideal settings they often times accidentally twist something to a in between setting and then the drill does not work correctly. Granted a simple twist fixes things it does get annoying when you have to help people work a drill. Also the chuck is a self tightening chuck and i notice that in reverse it will loosen its self up often.
Every product has its good and bad qualities and this products has the good outweigh the bad tenfold.
Buy DeWalt!"

the best darn drill,

"DeWalt has come out with a good drill system.
I really like the 18 volt Li-ion batt. The biggest thing I like about the batt is that you get full usage of it, not like the reg 18 volt that starts to slow down.
When your up in the air on a ladder you don't want to stop drilling untill your batt is dead. It also much easyer to chande then the old style battiery. Over all it,s a much better drill.

DEWALT Cordless Hammerdrill — 18 Volt, XRP Li-Ion,,

"I had the pleasure of setting a gun safe using my DeWalt over the weekend. I had to drill 4 - 3/4" holes in concrete to drop anchors into. The DeWalt handled the task with ease, almost to easy, if I was being paid for this job I'd have had to slow down and had a drink of water between holes. Well worth the money at any price. I use this tool on a daily basis and it really compares to no other I've had. Keep your eyes on this one it will disappear quickly!"

My Cordless Hammer Drill,
July 20, 2009
By DavefromEastKingston

"This drill has been a reliable performer since day one. If I could only have one power tool in my arsenal, this would be the one without question. No matter what I've asked this drill to do, it has performed flawlessly! With a spare battery in the case, I can go anywhere and work all day. DeWalt has a lot of presence in my workshop, but this drill gets the most work. Kudos to DeWalt on this fine product!"

Great Drill!!,

"I am a professional machinist/ automation fabricator, and recently purchased this drill as a backup for another brand drill that i have had for years. I was fed up with constantly rebuilding the transmission on that drill, and couldn't have the down time.
The DeWalt has been nothing but reliable, and Extremely durable. The Li-Ion battery runs, and runs, and runs providing full power for a long time. I have been able to do things with this drill that i was unable to do with my previous one, so much so that i have made this my primary drill!
Be aware about the battery though, if you havent used a Li-Ion before, the battery runs full steam, until it dies, and then it is dead. Completely. Dead. As in you can be drilling full steam one second, and dead stop the next. Rather disconcerting at first. No worries though, about 15-20 minutes in the charger, and its good as new.
I VERY Highly recommend this drill to Anyone who want the most reliable, powerful, and reliable drill ever made!"
