fast cooking stovve,
November 2, 2009
By willie7
from southern Pennsylvania
"This burner provides lots of heat for fast cookiing. It works great with just the center portion of the burner lit for most cooking. When you want to steam seafood, just use all three burner sections. The only downfall I found was trying to use this burner in windy conditions. A wind shield is needed to keep the burners lit."

Disappointed in product,
August 8, 2009
"Chose this unit for cooking crabs and fish after having purchased similar products from Northern Tool in the past. Went for the 35,000 BTU rated unit since I needed a lot of heat to cook with. To say I was mildly disappointed with the performance is giving the benefit of doubt. The three twist control values (1/4 turn limit) are basically on or off - praticallly not veriner control and they function like something made during the stone age. No instructions with unit - to air volume control on each burner segment is a crude designed. My unit comes nowhere near producing 35,000 BTU. Caution - make sure you do not use this sitting burner on a wood sruface- the heat blow down will burn whatever you have it sitting on"

Some cleaning required,
June 21, 2009
By Raven71
from Massachusetts
"First of all the stove did the job. Will bring a 33 qt water bath canner of cold water to full boil in less than 30 min at sea level and adjusting the heat is easy.
The unit did not work the first time I tried to use it. I was forced to take the burner valves completely apart and clean out the grease that was packed into them. Not a hard job, but a pain none-the-less. Once the grease was removed, it worked fine. Second, DO NOT place burner on wood surface. The cast iron legs will heat up enough to burn footprints on the wood's surface. Third, the cast iron grate is not flat on mine, so if you are planning on using a large skillet or something it will not seem stable."

35,000 btu burner,
December 10, 2008
By Smokeguy

"I love my 35,000 BTU. I purchased it to replace a burner on my self-made smoker. At times I smoke large products like turkeys or hams. The three burners provide me with excellent options to controll the heat during the smoking process. At night when it is colder outside, I am able to adjust the heat accordingly to properly process whatever meat product is in the smoker.
Recently I was able to take it apart and give it a good cleaning from all of the meat juices and burn't wood chips and sawdust. It came apart very easy and reassemble just as easy. It worked like a charm!

Excellent burner for home canning/cooking,
July 27, 2008
"Gets all the heat out of the kitchen to the deck or porch. Exceptionally sturdy, even more so than it appears in the photo, and easy to assemble. It could use an instruction manual but the box photo makes it pretty clear how to put it together.
It has no problem supporting the biggest pressure cooker or BWB. Quickly brings big pots to a boil and the flame controls for the center, L side, R side burners makes even detailed heat adjustments easy. Runs off a 20 lb. tank, needs a wind screen of some type and needs a heat resistant mat under it to protect deck or table top."

"This is exactly what I am looking for, and it perfectly fits the small dirty kitchen outside. I tried the stove as soon as I got it and it worked way beyond my expectation. I love the 3 burner control......, the btu...wonderful!!!!!!!!! No more mess inside the house. I have already recommended the unit to my friends.
I have only one regret.............why did I discover this stove only now."

Careful!,

"This is indeed a Heavy Duty Single burner that can put out some BTUs. I use this in the garage for cooking up things that stink up the house...cooks much faster than anything else I have. Very easy to regulate with the three controls. I wish I would have bought the double burner now so I can put a cast iron griddle on it."

"The heavy duty burner is a great way to keep the mess out of the house. I use it to deep fry, brown and sear in cast iron pans, and cook anything that makes a big mess. It puts out a lot more heat than most side burners and is heavy enough to handle large cooking utensils."
