Model 2270 fails after 12 months,

"I am on my 5th Northstar Model 2270 pump during the last 3 years. After every use I purge the pump with plain water; nonetheless, at about 10 months, they start to produce less line pressure and then quit completely at 14 months. The pumps are used for about 2 hours each week. This is clearly a low quality item. Northstar offers no explanation or recourse for this, except to offer to sell you another pump. I suggest everyone do as I am now doing and avoid buying Northstar pumps."

"i have bought over 100 surflo pumps in the last 12 years , i thought i would give the northstar a try. big mistake, i own a pest control company and the down time these pumps would cost me was way more than the savings. 3 or 4 of the pumps would leak from the pressure switch right away and the quit working 2 or 3 days later. the other ones lasted 2 or 3 weeks and then would stop working with out warning. when i called norstar for service i was put on hold for over 30 minutes 3 times never did talk to anyone, expensive lesson!!!"

Excellent Replacement Pump,

"I purchased this pump to replace the original one on my pull behind sprayer. While Northern no longer sells my sprayer, this pump was a perfect replacement. The specifications were almost identical to the original pump and it fit perfectly. I did not have to change a thing on the sprayer to connect it.
I noticed no performance degradation with the new pump. I am very pleased."
