Norwood sawmill,
October 19, 2009
"This sawmill works very well. The assembly is fairly extensive; but it educates the operator on how the mill works.
Because of this knowledge; most adjustments are understandable because the operator knows how the mill works.

Norwood Lumbermate 2000,
March 16, 2009
"This thing comes on a pallet of over a half-ton of boxes. Much assembly is required. If I'd had my air tools, it could be done in a day, but with ratchet and wrench it took me 2 1/2 days to get it together. Lots of bending down and tightening. The instructions are pretty good, but don't seem to match the engines correctly. A little guesswork is required in deciding on the number of shims for the clutch/pulley.
Now about the mill. It's awsome! Cuts through cedar and oak quickly and efficiently with smooth cuts. I'll never buy lumber again as long as this thing lasts - and by the quality of materials I'd guess that will be a very long time. This saw is easy to use and quickly makes lumber to the size you want. Even comes with instructions for building a solar kiln.

Excellent value,
November 18, 2008
"Assembly requires patience and ability to follow the clear detailed and illustrated instructions. Helps to have a level clean area (such as garage floor) for assembly. You trade your time for money. :-) Knowledge of and possession of basic mechanic tools is a must. If you don't already have a basic toolset - end wrenches and sockets - you should get a mechanically minded friend to help. If you are not mechanically inclined you may want to reconsider the whole sawmill thing. Otherwise the mill is an excellent value.
This mill WILL saw the last board as thin as 3/4" - not 2 inches as other reviewer stated. Buy the sharpener and blade setter. Read last sentence again.
This saw is capable of excellent finished product. Operator deficiency causes most of my problems. Give yourself time to learn to saw. If you are impatient or tend to force things you might be better off buying your lumber. ;-) That said operating this saw and producing your own lumber is a hoot!

Complicated Assembly,
July 19, 2007
By Mazen

"You have to be very mechanically experienced to be able to assemble this sawmill. It seemed to me that some of the parts could have been put together and shipped as a module. Instead, the sawmill came on a crate in twenty boxes containing what seemed like a million pieces. Once assembled, it works very well. Two areas of improvement: the blade gets dull relatively quickly and the dogs for securing the logs get in the way of the last few cuts. This results in the last piece always having to be a minimum of two inches thick. The machine seems of high quality overall."
