AO safety ear muffs with radio,
August 23, 2008
By Fortsand
from Shalimar FL
|
"I have had a set of these for about three years and I use them when mowing or doing most any outdoor chore while operating noisy tools. The noise reduction is great, but the analog radio has some shortcomings. The main problem for me is it is very bad about drifting off the selected station to another station. When I first put them on it is always on a different station from the previous one I was listening to. I am fixing to order a set with the digital tuner, hopes that solves the problem."

This Is One Rugged Radio,
August 14, 2008

"I have owned this product for about two years and use them almost every time I walk out the door. I can't count how many times I have either dropped these hearing protectors, or had them ripped off my head while on the tractor, but they keep working like new.
The reception could be better (I live way out in the sticks) and the noise reduction could be a little better, but the set is comfortable enough for all-day use and the volume/on/off knob is easy to operate with heavy gloves. For my next pair, if this unit ever dies, I will buy the same brand but I will get the slightly more expensive model with the electronic tuning."

Quiet Zone,

"These are fantastic. I install underground sprinkler systems and use a vibratory plow on a near daily basis. The difference between these and any other noise reduction device I have used is night and day. They eliminate almost all annoying noise without masking important sound cues and conversation. The clear radio reception is the icing on the cake. I am only disappointed that I did not start using them earlier."

AO Radio Headset,
August 11, 2008
By gmbcglang

|
"My son and I use the headset to mainly mow grass with. If used for hearing protection only they are first class. They shut out almost all outside noise. When we use the radio we sometimes don't get excellant reception. This is due mainly to our location. We have had a different brand in the past and have the same results. But as far as quality, durability and price it is a good product."

"One of the best things I treated myself to buy. I have a friend who does hearing tests and said my hearing loss in the high wavelenght range was from doing yardwork with out hearing protection. Not only does this protect but also amuses me and passes the time while I do yard work. I was so impressed I bought 2 more for my sons."

Quality at the finest,
November 1, 2007
By jerseybob

"I have had the Peltor ear protectors for a long time. I found them great on a 747 and definitely better that the $300 electronic noise cancelors. When I wanted a radio for outdoor work I knew I was tired of playing with the ear plugs and headphones of the small portable radios. On seeing the AO unit advertised I was leery of the radio quality. I gave them a chance. The radio has no numbered dial, but I found a favorite station and tuned to other stations with great ease. I have found the AM and FM tuning to be very good and at least as easy as my Walkman. The sound is very good with the quiet background even when I'm blowing the leaves.
If you are a radio listener this is a great investment, otherwise the better "muffs" are the way to go for noise deadening"

"I was a little concerned about the NRR of the Work Tunes because it was quite a bit less than the regular hearing protection I wear, but I was surprised at how low you can keep the volume even during very loud work. I agree with one of the other reviewers that digital tuning would be a good improvement however."

Radio earphones,
July 9, 2007
By Ned777
from southern Maryland
|
"I recommend for anyone who spends time on a noisy piece of equipment. It deadens the sounds of the equipment while providing you with a comfortable way of listening to your favorite radio station whehter it be a talk show or music.
You also loose track of time so it makes those boring chores go by fast.
I recommend this product"

AO safety WorkTunes,
July 9, 2007
By Pigfarmer
from Lyle WA
|
"I used this product several different places and was not satisfied with it's preformance. The hearing protection was fine but the radio was very poor. I was only able to receive a couple of FM stations and only one that would come in good and it went in an out as I moved my head. Only one very poorly received AM station. I would not recommend this product and probably should return it."

It should come WITH the equipment,
November 24, 2006
By Reidly

"I use WorkTunes primarily while mowing. This fall I used it with my mower and leaf vacuum/mulcher. It is truely amazing how less tired I feel at the end of the day. I wish I had gotten one these 15 years ago. It's comfortable and incredibly quiet. Anyone who uses noisy equipment will love this thing! I am reserving the 5th star for the next model with DIGITAL tuning."

Hearing saved,
November 16, 2006
By snekkerbj

"This has been quite a "savior" for my hearing. There is a lot of noise at work and these cut out the sudden and very loud machinery noises I have to contend with. You do need to get used to them, though. A little bulky and the antenna sticks up a little too far for my work area. Altogether a very good product."
