"The stove was easy to set up and takes a lot of wood it can put off a lot of heat we had three rooms at 88 degs and it held them there most of the night the temp out side was 15 degs, of course that depends on your kind of wood but it did go through the wood faster then I hoped"

"This is a good stove for the money, however, if you have never heated with wood before then spend a little more for something safer. This stove does not have a baffel and you can not choke it completely, therefore is easily overfired. It does require a higher level of "babysitting"."

Warming up after the hunt,
November 18, 2008
"I purchased one of these stoves for use in a hunting cabin. It is probably the best furnishing item in the place. The cabin stays toasty all night long with proper damper adjustments. I rarely need to get up to stoke the fire during the night. I would also recommend the floor/wall protectors (I have the woodgrain ones) so you can keep the fire lit safely all day long while you're out hunting. It sure is nice to come back to a warm cabin after being in the cold."

Green with a Deluxe Boxwood Stove & save $$$.,

"The Vogerlzang wood stove is a well designed wood burning stove made with quality materials which are easily assembled to give you a stove with many uses. It heats a large area easily with a fire box that is close enough to being absolutely air tight for perfect burning control of the firebox. It has a nice large flat top for heating a 5 or 6 gallon bucket of water with room to spare to cook on too. Place your coffee pot in a spot nearer to the door to keep your coffee the temperature that you desire. Lots of toast has been made on that top. You can cover that cook top with large cans of water to make a very efficient humidifier that requires no electricity. I put my clothes on a fold-up wooden rack and hang some clothes on their hangers from a hanging pot rack on the sides of the stove for a perfect & inexpensive clothes dryer which also acts as a humidifier. Do not place the hanging pot racks where dripping water can sure rust your stove. And way less trash going to the landfill because if it burns it goes in that woodstove so no need for a shredder during periods when one needs a good wood stove. The kids love to roast wieners, marshmallows, & smores with the door open, and I’ve made an adapter to turn it into a handy indoor charcoal grill & use it for dutch oven cooking too.
This wood stove is almost identical in construction & design to the wood stove that my family received from the Indian Department on the Indian Reservation which we have been using since 1881. It still looks like new but the new stove is just not as ornate as that old stove. The new stove does have a better door latching mechanism. IT IS FLAWED IN DESIGN because that built in stove pipe damper is in a perfect place to burn your fingers extremely easily & it gives lousy firebox control. However that built in damper is easy to remove to place a damper in the stove pipe about 10 to 11 inches above the stove for better fire box control & no burned fingers. I also recommend getting a set of grates about 4 inches high for better airflow and easier ash removal so you don’t have to let the stove go out to remove the ashes.
Add a Magic Heat™ Reclaimer for Wood, or Coal Stove — 6 in., Model# MH-6-R into the first section of stove pipe about 20 inches above the top of the stove & you have a great wood stove with thermostatic controls with fan distribution of the heat, and the fire box becomes about 35 to 40% more efficient so you can have good heat all night long with the proper choice of wood. And that a Magic Heat™ Reclaimer makes the stove safer in many ways, such as less creosote in stove pipes & in the chimney, and lower temperatures in stove pipes. That means a lower chance of your stove starting a fire."
