Magic from Magic Heat,

"I started using the Magic Heat which I purchased from Northern some time ago on my wood stove at home. I found it to be a good reliable device which allowed me to recover heat that otherwise would have gone up the chimney.
Since that time I have recommended the unit to several other friends who had observed mine in operation. Their purchases resulted in savings and greater comfort for them as well.
All in all the Magic Heat has been a device which has proved over time to be a very good investment which I would highly recommend to anyone trying to maximize their heating efficiency.

Got Heat?,
March 7, 2007

"Recently I purchased the Magic Heat Reclaimer and added it to the operation of my wood stove. Prior to adding the Magic Heat Recaimer My wood stove would perform to a lower than average heat output. Constantly having to stoke the wood stove, allowing the wood to burn at faster and hotter temps in order to get more heat from it. Then I installed the Magic Heat Reclaimer! Now my wood stove has become vitually the primary heating source for my home. I am able to run the stove with a longer & lower burn, recapturing the heat that would normally be lost. This has added many BTU to the stove. The Magic Reclaimer is the best money I ever spend!!!"

Magic Heat--Best idea since swamp coolers!,
November 16, 2006
By Daniel

"Wonderful product. Easy to install, but poor support from manufacturer.
Once installed, I was AMAZED at how well this thing works. I am re-couping a great deal of lost heat and at the same time, the fan forces that heat out into the room, etc. I find I am using 75% less wood as I do not need to keep the stove blazing hot to radiate--Magic heat does this. Once at temp. a relatively small burn will keep the tubes plenty hot. As a result, I do not have a "hot spot" in the room where the stove is--the room heats up evenly and then seems to stay relatively stable. The Magic Heat fan itself turns on and off based on on preset tube temperature, though one can turn the fan on manually--say for Summer cooling use, or whatever.
Only recommendation I would make is to plug Magic Heat into an outlet controlled by a light dimmer. I did this by making a box with a pig-tale which plugs into the wall. In the box is a dimmer and a plug. This is important to me as the Magic Heat fan is MORE than adequate. I find that it is more comfortable and less noisy (~~75% of fan noise is created in the last ~~10% of top fan speed with any fan) to turn the fan down to about 60% of its capability. This is a modification which the manufacturer suggested, so if its done safely, its kosher. If making one of these is not in your game plan, and you want one, write me and I will make one up and sell it to you.
The product seems to be made well and is easy enough to clean--looks like it belongs, does not take up much space and has powered our heating bill substantially. The fact that I am using MUCH less wood, is a big plus for my back. Since the unit is completely sealed, ALL smoke goes up the pipe and none escapes into the house. About the only requirement which is not explicitly stated in their advertising is that, for best performance, the unit should be mounted no less than 12" off of the stove.
I do not work for these folks, I just happen to live in the CO mountains, where it gets cold. I REALLY like it when I can order a product and it works better than expectation. For me, that is a rarity, and it is for this reason that I so highly recommend this unit. Why waste heat when a fan is SO cheap to run?!?

Magic Heat,

"This really does work very well, it takes heat that you would otherwise lose up the flue and puts it into the house. I'm struggling to keep the house from getting too warm as I get used to using this incredible money saver."

Buyer Beware,
November 2, 2009
By dfegs

"Installation of this product restricted draft significantly. Carbon Monoxide detector routinely activated any time the woodstove was not fully opened and running hot. The number of times we "opened the doors" could not be counted. We definately burned wood faster keeping the draft up. Produced lots of heat but not worth the headaches. Removed after 1 season."

"Great product! Can't believe I waited this long to give this thing a try...............I love it....especially how soon after starting a fire it's producing heat before the whole stove heats up. I have a 30' x 40' great room where it's being used. Looks like it's going to save me a ton a wood and keep things much warmer."

Magic Heat Model# MH-6-R,

"I have used this heat reclaimer in my basement on a wood burning stove for two seasons already and it
really pumps out the heat. The basement is noticeably warmer when it is turned on. It is easily maintained with
its plunger rod. I leave it on all the time as it automatically cycles on and off with the heat. | highly recommend it.

Heat Reclaimer- Awesome Investment,
November 2, 2009
By MarineSniper

"Attached my Magic Heat Reclaimer to my coal/wood stove in my very cold, drafty garage. What a difference!!! The unit works incredible, and essentially makes me able to work all day and night without heavy clothing or jackets. Probably one of the best things I ever purchased due to it's reliability and ease of install."

Good Product,But how?,
October 27, 2009
By sodaklion

"I purchased this product and I am very impressed. I use wood to heat my house, and before I always had a cold kitchen and bedroom now with this it keeps all the rooms warm. I also use less wood. This is my first season and my only question is how to clean out the unit without taking it all apart. A very good product.

It Rocks,
October 26, 2009

"Just got the reclaimer connected and fired the wood stove up. As the unit reached the set temperature, she started blowing heated air into the room which amazed my wife and I. I couldn't believe the amount of heat we were losing up the stack which now fills our living room. If you burn wood, it's a no brainer. Getting a second one for our cabin in W. Virginia. You can't go wrong. A little loud (fan), but can deal with that for the amount of heat this baby puts out."
