"I bought this gen-set a year or so ago and was delighted with the unit. It's pretty quiet but not enough for mounting under the bed in my 5th. wheel trailer, so I mounted it on my truck and plumbed it into the trucks gas tank and used the trucks battery for starting it. This is the problem! THIS UNIT DOES NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY IT SLAVES OFF OF!!! That means that all the 12 vdc required to run this gen-set comes from a battery that it won't charge. Between the 12 volts required to run the electronics and the fuel pump, it will run your starting battery down until neither it, nor your vehicle will restart. It will REQUIRE a seperate charger (110 vac to 12 vdc ) inorder to remedy this. Why in heck Generac didn't include battery charging capability on a unit that requires a battery is beyond me. If you want to mount this ON an r/v like it's intended and it's charging the r/v batterys through the r/v's converter/battery charger then it's fine. IT WILL NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY THAT STARTS IT WITHOUT A SEPERATE CHARGER!"

Great deal, easy install,

"I bought this over the summer for my 30 foot camper. Runs very good. Was easy to install (mounted on a cargo rack on rear bumper). Electrical very easy and comes with good instructions. Runs fairly quiet. All in all very good bang for your buck."
