Great little smoker!,
November 2, 2009
By Xem1
"Bought this as a gift and both the recipient and I have gotten a lot of use out of it. I was surprised at how well salmon turned out and am looking forward to smoking turkey and even vegetables to make sauces. There are lots of recipes that you can find online. The cook time is surprisingly short and the product turns out moist, not dry at all. The other great thing about it is that it works really well for a small space and is easy to store when not in use. The only design aspect that I could possibly complain about is that it might be easier to add/remove food if there were a door on the side of the smoker, rather than having just a lid on the top."

NO Brainer,

"This is the smoaker for the beginner as well as a seasoned pro. You really can't miss with this unit. Simply set the electric control to desired Temp add a handfull,(Yes I said just a Handfull) of wood chips and smoke your favorite meat to a perfect finish. The only downside to this smoker is that It dosen't come with an elaborate cook book. But if you set the control to To Med and follow a cook books baking time per lb your pretty close. I Smoked 9 lb. of Tri Tip in 40min on High and next time will use the Med. setting for a more rare finish. Why spend more this smoker will do as good a job at half the cost."

Great smoker for the price,

"Works well and produces excellent meat. Smoking chips in the bottom burned a bit more than expected. We have used this for chicken and pork. Recommend wrapping the pork up tightly as it was a bit dry. Overall, a very good product."

"This one is great if you do not like to stay in front of the BBQ grill and keep turning the meat.
Turn to the medium temperature and relax.

"I have used this smoker 6 times now, brisket, pork steaks, ribs, tenderloin, pork shoulder. All were awesome and no matter what the weight of the meat or how much they have all been done perfectly in 2 1/2 hours on high! Can't wait until winter to try it out."

"excellent smoker, I've done fish, turkeys, ribs and steaks, and this is the best smoker I ever used. No hassel with briquet's or propane. And the nice temperature control is easy to keep your heat at that perefect setting. would recommend this product to everybody who likes hassel free smoking or cooking."

"This item is a very easy to use smoker. I have many years of experience with electric smokers and would recommend several tries with this unit to get used to the cooking times of different meats. I like the variable heating range and the easy access to the cooking racks. The unit is a good price for the quality of unit. I would recommend it for most lazy cooks."

Great Product & arrived on time!,
January 7, 2009
By Hurshybar
from Billings, MT
"After reviewing several different brands& types, I settled on this particular smoker. Unlike other postings by people, my smoker arrived intact and was very easy to put together. I smoked Christmas dinner with a 16 lb turkey and it was done in 2.5 hours....with it being below zero outside & on med. heat!! I left it in for that amount of time and it was golden brown....left it in for an additional 2 hours for more of a smoky flavor with the lid cracked and the meat practically fell off the bone. Will be definitely using it more in the future! You won't reqret your purchase!!!
One tip: If basting or injecting meat, let it merinate overnite...wish I had for a stronger flavor."

Great for beginner,

"I wanted to start smoking meat with something fairly inexpensive since I was not sure if it's something I'll be doing all the time so I purchased the old smokey. It is a great smoker for the money. Two things to keep in mind, 1- Don't cook the meat on high, It will burn the meat. Try between midium and high, It will keep the temp right around 225 degrees. I bought a over thermometer for couple of dollars which works really good. Keep the temp between 200 to 225. 2- Wrap the bowl in an aluminium foil to keep it clean. Juices and spices from meat will burn and stick to the bowl, it is very difficult to wash it off. I have smoked beef brisket and baby back ribs. My family and friends liked it so much so that I have the job of making ribs and briskets for new years eve dinner. Very happy with the purchase."
