Worth every penny!,

"I've been making french fries at parties for years, but I always relied on the smaller plastic cutters, until the last one blew out. Then I starting cutting them by hand. Ugh. Then some plans came along for a four day/night party at a famously rowdy bluegrass festival and I knew it was time to get serious. Armed with this awesome cutter, sixty pounds of spuds, sea salt and a hundred-plus Chinese food containers, I had a lot of fun and made a lot of friends that weekend. "Free fries, small or large order? Small? Okay, here... dump some out". I also got many inquiries as to where the cutter came from and would be very surprised if I'm the only "Fry Guy" at the next shindig. I did not mount mine on anything for that weekend, but have since made a cutting board that it attaches to very simply and works like a charm. For anyone serious about production fries, I also suggest a good turkey fryer base with a shallow pan/frying strainer. Buy one of these cutters and you'll never have to worry about what to bring to the next pot luck picnic!"

Not So Sweet Potatoes,

"I hadn't realized how much more dense/tough a raw sweet potato is than a regular baking potato until I tried one through this. It certainly revealed some of the design flaws.
The blade grid is only secured on 3 of the 4 corners. The top pushes away under heavy loads, and a sweet potato is a heavy load for this slicer. This contributes to the pusher and blades coming out of alignment too easily. This model does NOT make it easy to adjust alignment.
The mounting screws are difficult to reach. They could have improved things by using a more substantial head on the screws they use. I'm considering replacing mine with hex heads instead of their rounded off Philips (+) head.
It is easy to clean. Has good leverage.
I'm a little disappointed in the overall care and quality. For example, the unit has 4 'feet'/ mounting holes. On a flat surface I would expect these feet to line up. Instead, the unit totters like a cheap blue school chair. Also, the unit has way too much metal-on-metal resistance from the factory. A little non-stick cooking spray solved this for me, but still?"

"Most french fry cutters break after several weeks or months - this one will last a long, long time. It is totally sturdy and would even work for a small commercial/industrial type kitchen. Fries aren't the healthiest food in the world -but, boy do they taste great and home-made fries are SO much better than fast-food or restaurant ones. The cutter makes really consistent cuts and stay sharp for a long time. For the money, this is a fantastic product an I highly recommend it."

"I liked this so much we bought another one for our second house. It's hard to get a good french fry cutter that lasts very long and doesn't break after a few cuts. This one can handle pretty good sized potatoes. I don't think it's quite up to commercial quality, but for the price, it's a good home unit."

Great, Study Cutter,

"We like to make our own french fries so we can bake them(healthier), so we wanted a good cutter. We were totally pleased with this cutter. It is sturdy, not like the others we looked at with alot of plastic parts and cheap metal. We used it with ease and the clean up was not hard. A full size Idaho potato will easily fit in this cutter. The cutting blade is strong also. We were very glad we didn't settle for a cheaper cutter because this one is fantastic. It came with two cutter blades so that was also a bonus. The shipping time was fast as well. Would recommend this french fry cutter to anyone wanting to purchase one."

"Every fall about 150 of us gather for a annual end to summer pig roast. Last year we purchahsed this product to make french fries. It works awesome and hardly requires any effort to slice through huge potatoes. I have been wanting to buy a french frie slicer for years and definetly glad that I purchased this one."

"I bought this item about six months ago, and so far it has held up to the punishment that I put it through. It comes in handy when preparing for a large group or just a small meal for yourself. The only thing that I found with the cutter is that I had to mount it on a cutting board for better support. In all this is a great product for the price."

"I purchased five of these for myself and friends when they were on sale. It is not as well constructed as the ones for $100+ but for the price they are excellent. I wish replacement blades were available-the professional quality blades won't fit. For the money they can't be beat."
