not recommended,

"The first one we installed seized up afer less than 5 minutes. (Gardian replaced it under warranty) The second one has gone through 3 starters and two magnetos in 5 years. I have found that the way to have it available whe the power goes ot is to not run it except for a few times a year. Gardian's factory support appears to be non exhistant.
It is also rediculously hard to work on. Changing a starter takes hours due to the fact that the box cannot be opened up to access it."

No more without power,
July 20, 2009
By SBIG

"This unit along with it's bundled switch was purchased after a bad winter storm left us without power for 13 days. Without power, we also were without water since our water came from a well. Since then we have had two short outages for weather related problems. One for 1 day and the other for 3 days. My Dad, brothers, and sister live nearby. My sister did not lose power, but all the rest did. All came to our house to eat meal, use the toilet, and take showers/baths. We only lost power for about 30 seconds which was the time the unit needed to detect the power outage and start up. Ours was fueled by a 300 gal gas tank. Once you have one you will wonder why you didn't get it before."

"WHEN IT RAINS IT BLOWS",
November 18, 2008
By BILLYBOB72

"During the "hurricane season" (and other times) we quite often lose our electric power. This results in no lights, no air conditioning, no refrigeration (spoiled
food, milk, etc. in refrigerator as well as ruined meat in freezer). The GUARDIAN
STANDBY GENERATOR, fueled by natural gas, has been a wonderful addition to our home. It automatically tests itself, quietly, each week and automatically turns on during a power failure. Nobody needs to be home as it takes care of itself. It automatically shuts down when the electric power has been restored from the utility company. The included, prewired transfer switch, made the installation much easier although I had a licenced electrician help me. This generator has never failed me AND I have recommended them to a lot of folks.

Covers the essentials,

"I got one of these right after Hurricane Rita and got it up and going with the help of a good electrician. Would have been without power for over three weeks that time and being out in the country it has come in handy numerous times over the last three years. It will not run my whole house and only one of my air conditioners, but I do have it providing at least some power throughout the house (you have to put a little thought into what circuits to cover). Down South even a fan can sure be nice, but when you do not have to worry about refrigerators, freezers, etc. it is more than just nice."

"This generator is very easy to install and is pleaseing to the eye when installed near the house. We live in the country with 1/2 mile of driveway and above ground power lines. Winter and summer storms are not a problem anymore!"
