"I bought this welder for my own Shop thinking I would never have to borrow my company's machine again. Since are trusty Miller has gone down at work I'm forced to use mine at the job site. In my own opinion this is the best bang for your buck. It does everything just as good as the more expensive welders can and let me tell you this Is one hardcore machine. It has never kicked off on me or acted up and I put this thing under some strain. Truth be told I"m a true blue miller fan but after working with this machine my shop well have more Hobart equipment in the future."

"I fabricate for a living, 12 years ago when I purchased the Ironman 250 I did not, but I am very satisfied with the decision I made. Looking for a Mig welder to replace my used/abused Miller I looked at all the makes and models. The Hobart Iron Man 250 was cheaper than most of the other welders. I'm not going to lie that is what first attracted me to the Hobart line. But over the last 12 years it has beat every other welder I have owned or friends of mine have owned. It accepts the big 44 lb. spools of wire and the perishables are inexpensive...over the last 12 years; electrode tips..hundreds; nozzles..five; wire liners..two; ground clamp..one. I also had to replace a 7-position selector switch, do not switch under load (while machine is running), my fault. It has handled every need I have had from stitch welding thin gauge sheet metal to welding oil tight 1/2" thick containers. Since then I have purchased two Hobart Plasma cutters and they both perform like my welder...excellent. What would make it better? If it were designed with a removable ground cable, not hardwired in the panel."

"I use this machine for repairs and fabrication of my race car and parts, also for work around my shop and ranch. the machine for the money is the best I have found. I wanted a Lincoln or a miller and am glad I chose the Hobart 250. The duty cycle on this model vs. the smaller iron man made the decision for me to spend a few hundred dollars more. I doubt I'll use it to it's capacity but that is the idea isn't it? very good product."

"The IronMan 250 is an excellent welder. Easy to setup right out of the box. It includes very detailed instructions to help with setup, operation and trouble shooting and they include a toll free number for additional assistance. I use my welder with Argon/Co2 shielding gas along with .030 dia. mild steel wire and it performs great at all angles and on any gauge material up to 1/2". You just need to start with settings suggested in the instruction manual and tweek it to suit your individual preference. The only thing that I would change is the length of the leads. They are too short. The ground wire is only 10 ft. long so I use a 25 ft. extention cord to make the welder more portable."

"i have had it about 7 months used it about 35 times seems to be working good so far. i like how it has wheels that makes it easy to move around the garage. i use it in my machine shop to build microlights. ( powered hang gliders).."
