Welder works great,
November 2, 2009
By restored
from Moses Lake, WA
"So far my only compaint is that I had to troubleshoot the control circuit right out of the box. I found a bad crimp on the neutral wire. I fixed that and the machine works fine. I also had to have the correct drive roller sent to me. Customer service was great to deal with. No questions asked. I've done a couple little projects so and the machine works great. I'm using a Stargon #9 gas which helps put down a very nice, clean bead."

welder is fine - what about adapter?,
August 18, 2009
"The welder works fine but does take time for a novice to learn. The first time I have ordered an 8" wire spool, it was loose on the adapter and prevents a good weld. Anyone solved this?"

Very good welder,

"This appears to be exactly the same welder marketed by Lincoln, except the Lincoln does not have the MIG gas attachment. I am very satisfied with the performance of the Northern unit."

good small welder,
July 20, 2009
"I wanted a smaller welder that is portable and can be used in a standard electric outlet. (I have a larger Miller welder but definitely for shop use only)
Easy to assemble; has the gas regulators included which is nice as I prefer to weld with shielding gas as opposed to flux wire; did the job on 3/8" steel.
Have recommended it to other lady welders."

Perfect for smaller fabrication projects,
July 20, 2009
"If you don't have a 220V service in your garage or workshop, then this is the welder for you. It's just right for numerous creative projects for your car, boat, bike, or original artwork. If you buy the right accessories you can even work with aluminum and stainless steel too. I didn't need a production welder, so why spend the extra money to have one sitting around? If you take on a larger project just do the fabrication at home and take your project to the local professional welding shop for final assembly. This procedure will save you a lot of money as it has for me."

Great for the Shop,

"I purchased this welder for home projects and it works great, Only problem I had was the Gas hose from the regulator cracked and was leaking about a 2 months after I purchased the unit. I just cut the hose and re-connected. I have welded 1/4 in steel with this welder and it works great. for the money you cannot go wrong with this welder."

Good Welder,
July 13, 2009
By Anonymous
from Plano, Tx
"I am somewhat new to welding. I bought this welder because I was tired of borrowing a friends much larger Miller welder. I realized I could not afford the bigger welder and this one was on sale. I have found that it has met all of my needs. It was not exactly clear how to set up but I did get it set up. I felt like this was a very solid unit and was perfect for a first time welder.
More power would be nice from time to time. and I have noticed that the wire slips occasionally. But in the end I am very happy with this purchase.
I recommend this for light duty welding. This is a perfect residential garage welder. As the title suggest I bought this welder to fix a racing go-kart and every weld has held up."
