Works Well, November 18, 2008
By NorthernHandyMan from Fargo ND

"This is the first Powered Wet Tile saw I've purchased. I'm a home handyman (especially with tile) and this was my 3rd tile project.

I was in the middle of a bathroom remake and needed to cut some thin, corner and angled pieces from glazed 4" tiles. I usually used a simple score and break tool but for the thin and multiple cut sizes the score and break wouldn't work. It didn't make sense to purchase the $400 and up wet cut tile saws and found this one at Northern Tool.

The build of the tool is OK considering the price. The saw worked well. There are some issues with the guard, table adjustment rail, water bath and such,,, but overall I'd buy it in an instant for the same type of job. I might consider an upgrade blade for my next project with glazed tile. The saw will chip small pieces of the glaze from the cut and make for varying amounts of touchup and compromise. Something that might happen with any saw, but might be alleviated with a better blade: I don't have the experience to know on this one.

The tool served me well and is on the shelf waiting for the next project."

The best for do-it-yourselfers, November 18, 2008
By ObeytheE from Colorado

"I purchased this saw recently and found that it is the safest and easiest product I have used This was important to me as I made enough money to buy the house but not enough to pay contractors to fix it. I read a bit about tiling before I got started on my bathroom and wanted an inexpensive but dutiful wet saw. I got started due to a leak that caused first floor damage and now the upstairs bathroom is the best room in the house.
I found this through a friend review and feel that he really did a great service by directing me to Northern Tool and Equipment as well as this particular saw. I would suggest this tool for anyone looking to do work themselves with a limited knowledge of tile and smaller budget."

Okay for small jobs, November 17, 2008
By artwolf from Huntsville, TX

"I have used this saw for two floors and a bathroom. In general, it works as advertised, although the fence is poorly designed (the reason for 3 stars). If it had a better method for adjusting and tightening, it would be a much better product. For part of the time I had this machine and a friend's, and his fence was so much easier to use that I used his if I had to adjust it often, and mine if I could set it and make a bunch of cuts.

Also, the saw arrived bent up, because it is so poorly packaged. It was easy to straighten, but with better packaging I would not have had to.

I like the water tray. Better than the friend's machine.

Overall, for the price I would recommend it, but not if you were planning on doing tons of work. For the occasional project, it works fine."

7 inch tile saw, November 17, 2008
By bjrcj from sandersville, ga

"purchased this saw for a first time tile job, this saw was excellent and easy to use, removed saw guide after first cut and cut tiles freehanded, left saw on my patio for a week after use and top plate has begun to rust a little , maybe an aluminum top plate would be helpful on this saw"

It Works after Rewoking it., October 22, 2008
By Anyname from Michigan

"Saw arrived dead on arrival, had to replace the power cord, after that it ran fine. Have used to to tile two floors, so far so good. Not the highest quality tool I own, but works. Also arrived with bent corners, had to straighten them out. Fence is useless, easier to cut free hand."

Good saw, August 20, 2008
By Houston1228 from San Antonio, TX

"Bought this and cut 100LF or so (over 0 tiles) and was easy to use and very compact and easy to store. Simple construction best suited for typical ceramic tile. Did tend to chip the edges just a bit and required more water added for each tile cut. Also good idea to use outside as it tends to spray water everywhere. But hey, it's a wet saw!"

Great saw for do it yourselfer, August 19, 2008
By mtc106 from Kentucky

"Delivery started out a little rough. First saw arrived in a timely manner but was to damaged to use due to poor packaging. Northern tools was very easy to work with. Sent new saw same day as damaged one was delivered. Excellent customer service. When the second saw arrived work started. I was installing approx. 300 square foot of 12" cermic tile. The saw worked perfect. Set up was no problem. The blade only lasted half way through the job and had to buy a new blade. No problem finding a blade. The saw has enough power to cut through the tiles without any chipping or breaking. The is an excellent saw for the do it yourselfer. I would recommend it."

Excellent Value, Easy to use, August 18, 2008
By Phred50 from Springfield, VA

"I was ready to tackle my first tiling job. Even though it was a very small room, the price of this item was pretty close to what it would have cost me to rent a wet saw. Easy to set up and easy to use. I was a bit intimidated as I was cutting porcelain floor tile. I was pleasantly surprised as I made every cut perfect the first time....no mess ups at all. Great for small jobs."

Good reliable cutter, August 18, 2008
By ladytiler from London via Florida

"Well worth the price when offered as a special purchase, but there were some problems: the guard interfered with the cut on larger tiles, cleaning was a true headache and the tray is not easily removed to change the water in the reservoir. Despite this, its primary purpose as a residential use home tile cutter was more than adequate and once the blade was replaced, it worked even better."

"This saw is very easy to assemble and use. For the homeowner who is a do it yourself person this saw is ideal. The blade began to get a little dull after about fifty cuts but for the price it is hard to beat."

Good Saw for the price, August 18, 2008
By Smogg from Palo Alto, CA

"If you are a weekend warrior looking to save money this is the saw for you. Cheaper than renting and will get the job done. Use a thin cloth on the table to keep the surface from scratching and subsequently rusting."

Non experienced tiler, August 13, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewer from Georgia

"Never laid tile. To save money, my wife and I tackled the job of remodeling a bathroom and laying our own tile. Ordered this inexpensive wet tile saw. It was great for the job. No problem at all. We honestly only wasted one tile and that was my fault, not the saw. Would recommend this saw to anyone. The professional excluded of course. Sure it wouldn't hold up under job after job, but for the inexperienced and handyman, it's the best deal for the buck."

Simply a Sweet Machine, August 12, 2008
By lexus from Cookeville, TN

"At a fraction of the cost of other wet saws, this one really caught my attention. I had a few doubts (you get what you pay for) but all those vanished about halfway through my 170 square foot bathroom. I think I bought the thickest ceramic tile available too! I did have to replace the blade before finishing but its a common blade size your can get from Lowe's or HD. I did hear that the top rusted easily so the first thing I did was rub grease into the table asap. After two rooms now there is a little rust but nothing that inhibits its function. It's even got a bevel (correct term?) to angle your cuts! I'll admit though, it is a bit difficult to change the water, so be sure you make your cuts outside where spillage isn't a problem. Shipping was quick too. I wish you well with your tile jobs!"

Worked flawlessly, August 11, 2008
By Jerrym214 from Henderson, Nevada

"I was extremely satisfied with the Northern Industrial Wet Tile Saw, it made all the cuts I needed and it was porcelain tile 13". Did my kitchen without a hitch. Just two minor issues as with other reviews I've read, the packaging was not so great and I had to bend back the corners and the rip fence was a little tough to work with but if you take your time and measure it will work fine, I was very happy with this saw and for the price it really is unbeatable."

beats renting one, August 11, 2008
By vg622 from central new hampshire

"i bought this saw for a medium sized job, i needed to cut about 35 13inch ceramic tiles, 3/8" thick. i figured that if i could get it through this job it would be cheaper than renting a wet saw, and i could take my time doing it. it took 2 to 3 'funky' cuts to realize that the guide they provided was more of a pain in the neck than just being careful to guide the tiles along a piece of masking tape. i not only have finished the job, but i have lent it out to friends to do much bigger jobs than mine and i needed to replace the blade, it is MUCH BETTER than i expected, though, i had to return the first on because it was damaged in shipping, no problem with the exchange other than the delay in finishing my job. By the way, I am 50 year old woman with no experience in this sort of thing."

Like cutting butter, August 11, 2008
By Lorieann98 from Bluefield, VA

"Had a bathroom project to do and I tiled my bathroom floor myself...I used this tile cutter and it made the job so easy. Just make sure there is plenty of water in the reservoir and let the cutter do the rest..As long as you let the machine do the cutting you will have no problems cutting your tile...I used 6X6 in. tiles and had no problems...I highly recommend this cutter to anyone who might be doing there own tiling... My husband was impressed..."

Tile Saw, August 11, 2008
By Jotea from Amarillo, Texas

"We have several tile saws ranging from very large and expensive to small hand saws. This saw does a good job and I would recomend it to any home owner and small business to have on hand, It is cheaper to buy a complete saw than to repair one."
