Great for the homeowner,
October 19, 2009
By Craigshome

"This was the first time I ever used a media blaster. Have a set of light poles and wrought iron gates that needed to be cleaned and painted. This blaster is perfect for the homeowner. Easy to use -- the media selection is good and I had no trouble. A good buy. -- I'll try it next on the deck with the crushed walnut shells."

Bad Blaster,

"I bought this blaster a couple of years ago before the deadman was standard with it. Line is constantly clogging as it enters the nozzle. I have tried several different abrasives and still have the same results. Very haard to finish a job when it is constantly clogging."

Good for Hobby/Light duty,
March 16, 2009
By zenhd

"This blaster is good for the hobbyist or for light duty jobs. It does, however require quite a bit of air to work effectively (like most blasters), so you can't use it with an air compressor that doesn't move a lot of air. I tried it with a 60 gallon compressor that moves 10 cfm at 90psi, and it didn't really work at all. it wasn't until I hooked it up to an 80 gallon which moves 24 cfm at 90psi that it did what it is supposed to do. Definitely keep that in mind. Also, it has a bunch of cheap plastic parts which break easily, so don't expect to be able to muscle it around. Not bad for the money, I guess, but if you have more to spend and plan to do a lot of blasting...I'd go for something more substantial."

"Im not overly picky but if i could give this blaster zero stars i would - absolute junk. dont make the same mistake that i did and buy the more expensive ALS blaster from the get-go. Northern Tools return department was great and made replacing the product easy."

alternate use,
November 18, 2008
By jimmy117

"I bought one of these and changed fittings around and now use it to winterize mobile home. I fill tank with antifreeze and connect air compressor and blow out water lines by passing air into tank. Then I open tank valves top and bottom and force antifreeze thru systme.. One hour job now takes 10 to 15 minutes max with perfect results every time. Now other people borrow my system. Only modification was to reroute fittings and attach garden hose fitting"

Overall Good,
October 5, 2008

"Purchased this several weeks ago and finally had time to use. I had no problems with assembling the unit; all parts were in working order and all pieces intact and operational. I used 160# of construction fine sand and ran unit about 3-4 hrs. steady. During this time I only had one sand plug, this I feel is the little regulator isn’t big enough and will have bigger unit for next time. The nozzles held up right until the last few minutes, these were the ones with unit, I only used one nozzle. I did purchase another set just incase. Overall I give this unit for the money a good rating.
I’m making a camp from a pontoon boat; the top side aluminum needed blasting and pontoons need re-painting. This blaster should do the job………….."

Poor,
August 13, 2008
By kc3010

"From the minute I purchased this product it has been nothing but trouble. It clogs entirely too easy I've tried different types of media materials and it still clogs really easily. The pressure regulating valve is nothing more than a cheap bolt and spring pushing down on a very thin rubber membrane. I've had to replace the pressure regulator and reseal every joint and fitting on the unit i would strongly recomend that you do not purchase this product just spend the extra money on a better one its worth it in the long run."
