ASO,
August 19, 2008
By Metalthumper
from Farmington, NC
"This is NOT for the serious or even intermediate blacksmith. This is what blacksmiths refer to as an ASO or avil-shaped object. It works fine for straightening out blades for your mower or the occasional pounding on some type of metal, but has NO rebound so you get to do double the work! BUT for the money and for occasional use, it is fine keeping these "qualifiers" in mind."

NOT FOR THE BLACKSMITH,
April 22, 2008
By dwbutersr
from Mocksville, North Carolina
"If you are a blacksmith, this will do until you get a real anvil. Rebound is non-existant and has no hardy or pritchel. Pritchel can be drilled into it with minimum of difficulty. This got me out of a pinch while waiting on a real anvil; and for the price, you can't beat it. For those who are not blacksmiths, this is probably ideal. It's inexpensive and does not have a really loud "ring" to it. Would work well on the farm or in the mechanics shop."

70 lb anvil,
April 15, 2008
By RogerM

"This anvil easily meets basic requirements and is a great buy for the price. The table is not milled flat and has no holes for tools. The horn is wide and flat which makes it difficult to shape stock with."

"I needed an anvil to straighten out my cutter blades on my tractor mower deck. This anvil did just fine, and was priced just right, straighten out all the blades.
It's solid enough for beating on metal..

anvil?,
April 17, 2007
By blksmth
from santa clara,ca
"This is an anvil like object
the problem is that this is not a steel anvil it is made of cast iron
If you are looking for an anvil this is not it, if you are looking for something heavy to pound on, this will do and it is reasonably priced."
