"On our ranch, we live 65 miles from the nearest town, when we need a tool we need it now. When we set up our shop we ordered all Makita products because of recommendations from professionals that use the tools and more importantly from our own experience. We purchased this saw and have used it for every kind of project an cut. It is accurate, solid, efficient and does every cut perfectly. If you want the best, purchase Makita."

A Makita for a Professional,

"I am a self-employed interior trim carpenter/General Contractor w/35 years experience. I have been using a Makita LS1221 for 3 years, I currently own 4. A powerful motor is the highlight of the saw. The only drawback is the kick of the motor when engaging the trigger, the operator must have a firm hand on the wood stock to prevent movement, which could cause a bad cut. The LS1220 had a soft start feature which addressed this issue but the failure of the soft start module and its high cost of replacement, I assume, caused the introduction of the LS1221, which also was a small step up in power. Makita's attention to detail and quality along with its reasonable price puts this saw a notch above other saws I have owned and used."

"Accurate, fast, and extremely well built. I'll never buy a different miter saw again. I've burned out, been frustrated with inaccuracy or inability to hold true, just about every other kind of 12" saw. This one's the best!"

"Last year I added a huge deck to house. The Makita mitre saw was a godsend, I was able to cut quickly and accurately. Then more recently, I added a second floor to my home. There were so many things I cut with this saw: wood floor, trim, tub surround. This tool is a must if you own a home and continually need to fix or add to it."
