Great saw!,

"I have used this saw for everything from blasting through 2x8s to minute trimwork and it has been great! The only thing that made it better was when I mounted it on a mobile workstand. I showed my wife how to use it so she could cut for me when I'm up on the roof or ladder and she did great, and she loved it!
Thoroughly satisfied, Another great Makita product!

Miter Saw,

"I built my home and needed an efficient miter saw. After reviewing several models, I decided to go with the Makita 10 in. miter saw. I have friends that have 12" miter saws and it's way too big and bulky for your average do-it-yourselfer. With a 10 in. miter saw I was able to complete all my framing and finishing work on my home and it was easy to set up, easy to operate, and very well built. I was in a hardware store and a gentlemen was looking at miter saws and he said he wanted a big powerful miter saw and his friend told him to buy a 12 in. He asked me if I had one and I said I had the Makita 10 in. miter saw and was able to do everything I needed. In the end he was impressed with my information on my miter saw and also picked up a Makita 10 in. Later on I saw him again and he thanked me and thanked me for telling him about this quality tool."

"A very dependable saw for accurate woodworking joints. It is powered appropriately and very easy to change/set angle degrees. Being only a 10" saw, it does limit the width of wood you use for making accurate cuts. Other than that, it is a very reliable saw."

Good saw except for the details,
October 29, 2007

"Good motor, solid enough base and arm. Easy enough and accurate enough adjustment. Light enough to carry one-handed.
My only problem is with the safety switch on top of the handle. Extra switch buttons were included, which tells me these things must break a lot. I wouldn't mind if it just broke and got replaced, but once it broke and now the electronic brake doesn't engage right. I don't like having a freewheeling blade, and I don't like waiting for it to stop. The rest of the saw is solid as ever, so I'll probably be dealing with this problem for years. I also lost the plastic thing that holds the dust bag shut right away. Not so great a design on that either, but it never caught much dust anyway.
