Engine hoist and more,
November 4, 2009
"I have used this tool for a little more than an engine hoist. I was working on a pair of Studebaker pickups a while back and needed to remove the cab to inspect the frame. I had a come along that would have done the job, but that would have required me to stand on a ladder close to the project and possibly get knocked off, either by the swinging cab or if the cab would have fallen. I used the load leveler and a few tie down straps and lifted the cab off, rolled it out of the way and placed it on the floor.
It must have impressed someone because it was gone when I returned from my tour of duty in Iraq.

Great Hoist,

"I don't pull engines, but I do need to move heavy objects. We recently purchased 14,000 lbs of soapstone to be used for countertops. We needed a forklift to unload the 15 crates but of course could not use it inside the house to move the crates to where they are needed (all crates weigh at least 400lbs but some weigh 3-4000). The hoist with the engine leveler works great for moving the crates and we have made a web sling for lifting the individual slabs for cutting and laying on counters. Each slab weights 2-400 lbs and the hoist with it's heights adjustment is working great. Now, these two old coots can get on with building their dream home without straining.

More than an engine hoist.,
July 20, 2009
"I am a shade tree motorcycle mechanic, doing minor repairs on mine and friends cycles. Recently my wife purchased the motorcycle lift for me and I love it, but as I'm getting up in years I had trouble putting bikes on their centerstands on the lift. A friend said I should buy an engine hoist and after looking at numerous ones I purchased this one. Now I wheel a bike onto the lift, put it on the side stand, hook up the engine hoist to the frame past center of the cycle and lift. Then I can either put down the center stand or leave it suspended by the hoist. And if I need to remove the front wheel, instead of searching around for somethig to block up the bike, just connect the engine hoist to the handlebars and it's done. If I need to rotate the cycle on the work stand, I connect the hoist near the center of gravity for the bike, lift, and rotate.. Recently I wanted to sharpen the blades on my tractor type lawn mower, so connected the hoist to the front of the mower, lifted and sharpened the blades. At a fraction of the time it took before to jack up the mower, crawl around on the ground, upbolt the blades, sharpen and rebolt. This machine is a lot more than an engine hoist. With the folding legs and wheels, I just wheel it to a corner of my garage and it's out of the way. You won't go wrong with the purchase of this hoist. And someday I may even use it to hoist an engine."

engine hoist,
July 20, 2009
"This tool comes in very handy. I do construction work as well as hobby mechanic and I have used and abused this tool on the jobsite as well as the garage. I have lifted a ton of concrete blocks in an off level surface. I thought the hoist was going to get bent but it never had a problem. Wheels roll well. Folding is a good bonus because it fits in a 2 foot by 3 foot space on the shop floor. Free load leveler is excellent."

"Easy to assemble. Hoist gives you the extra couple of inches of lift that the average hoist does not. The free load leveler is a definite plus."

Great Hoist at a Decent Price,

"I used this hoist to pull an engine from an old Toyota MR2. The engine on the MR2 needs to be pulled from beneath the vehicle so the vehicle was lifted fairly high on blocks. I was worried that the hoist would not have enough vertical range so I opted for this model over the 1 Ton version. The vertical range was plenty.
It also folds up nicely and takes up little room in my garage."

Foldable engine hoist,

"I've only used it three times thus far, but am very pleased with it's performance. The load leveler came in handy on the first engine I pulled; a V-8 which I had shoehorned into an antique tractor. I also like the way it folds up for storage. I'm very pleased with my purchase!"
