Drywall Panel Hoist, December 5, 2006
By Kingfish from New Orleans, LA

"This is an excellent product. Not only can one person hang drywall to the ceiling quickly, it can be used to raise plywood panels for exterior sheathing. Assembly out of the box was completed in less that 10 minutes and the first sheet of drywall was up ten minutes later. From then on it just went faster.

On the first job where it was used we acquired two more clients on the first day just by having visitors to the site watch this product in use."

Dry Wall Hoist, August 11, 2008
By Top2006 from MS

"I have recently started a Handyman Business with experience I have gained throughout my life. With this new business I have replaced ceilings in four residences, two with the hoist. I purchased the Dry Wall/Panel Hoist and received it within a week, and have been able to place and secure the ceiling panels with less helpers and in less than half the time. It dis-assembles and assembles quickly for easier transport yet has the weight to adequately handle what I place on it."

drywall and panel lift, April 22, 2008
By Lilt from new jersey

"This lift saves alot of time and effort. 16' panels can be handled with ease. also i found that 12' can be handled solo and sloped ceilings are no problem. the only problem i had with the lift and that includes the extention is that the brake doesn't hold very well with a panel on a slope. this was easily solved with a few shims under the feet or a cleat screwed to the floor .the lift is strong ,the brake works well and the extention is easy to change out."

A helping hand on home rennovation project, April 22, 2008
By UncleB01 from Portland MI

"I recently purchased a drywall and panel hoist to use in my home rennovation project. I figured it would be handy but had no idea how handy it was. All my buddies are happy because I don't have to call them anymore to help hold up drywall or plywood. I have installed ceilings in my house and pole barn without any assistance from anyone else. Pretty cool tool!"

Drywall hoist, April 15, 2008
By Railsplitter from Illinois

"I ordered this hoist to put up drywall on ceilings of a couple of houses I am remodeling. Setup is fast and easy. It will sit or hang flat to store. This hoist is strong, agile and easy to operate and position. It has saved me many hours of straining as I work by myself. The only drawback I can find is the difficulty of getting a sheet onto the hoist. The loading height for the bottom of the sheet of drywall is around 3 feet high and bed of hoist will spin, which can make loading difficult. All in all, though, this tool is a winner."

drywall panel hoist, January 16, 2008
By alfylatino from Southern California, S. Diego Small Contractor

"1st job I used the panel hoist on was on 5/8th inch drywall, I both unboxed and used on the same day. The complete panel hoist came in two separately shipped boxes, it was easy to assembly as it was almost fully assembled and easy to use on the same day unlike some products that come so unassembled that you use most of the workday on the 1st day. I highly recommend this tool. An improvement to the tool though for the designers/potential buyer."

Outstanding, January 16, 2008
By Sandbag from Washington

"The drywall and panel hoist not only lives up to the advertising but is really simple to operate. Haven't got to the drywall yet but I couldn't have installed my pull down attic ladder without it. Made lifting the plywood for the floor in the attic possible. Assembled in less than 15 minutes, then I found the instructions."

drywall lift, October 30, 2007
By Generalhomerepairs from Hampton Roads area of VA

"This lift works great. one person can install drywall on the ceiling using this lift, before I had to have two - three people on the job installing each sheet. Now one person working alone in each room with this lift is all that is needed. The way I see it this lift is worth the price of two people per day. The jobs get done faster and my pocket gets fatter great investment."

What a sturdy drywall lift!, October 29, 2007
By DWheat9003 from Farmington Hills, MI

"I bought mine going on about six years ago and it has been a faithful servant to say the very least. I had to work by myself back in 2001 on my first drywall project because there wasn't really anybody I could count on to help, I needed this pretty badly as you can imagine, and this lift made the job so much easier to do it isn’t even funny! Then one day to my surprise Northern sent an upgrade to the lift cable that was considered to be a possible weakness due to a safety concern in the lift, could have fooled me? the old cable was perfect but it just shows me the care that Northern Tool gives to its customers and I promptly changed it anyway. They don't even know how that makes me feel when they care so much that they'll stand behind there products 110%.

By the way, when I recently called about another product and needed some info on it the girl at the other end was the most polite person you can imagine, This sounds to me like they treat there employees well too, keep it up again Northern!

I really would like to thank for all your sincerity and good customer care you give!

Thanks!
DWheat"

"This lift is a great labor saver. I used this to hang 1/2 inch drywall in a ceiling with no one to help. If I didn't have the lift, I would need 2 addiitional men. This is just the greatest tool, that I have ever owned."

Alternative use for drywall hoist, October 29, 2007
By Solar1 from Fayetteville, AR

"This product is not only an excellent buy for use in hanging drywall and plywood, but if you are interested in using solar panels to charge a set of batteries or provide on-site electricity, this product is what you want to use to mount the panels.

Only slight modification is needed to provide a lip along the lower portion of the panel support members so that the solar panels have a continuous resting place and along the upper portion to support the top of the panels.

Once these modifications have been made, you can also mount a bolt in the middle of the lower lip to act as a guide to determine the direction of the sun.

The fact that this hoist can rotate the panels about the horizontal axis to change their orientation relative to the sun's angle and also pivot so that you can track the sun across the sky, makes this a really practical way to get the most out of your solar panels during the entire day."

One of the best time savings tool on the market, October 29, 2007
By BrianJ from Leicester, Mass.

"Remember the old days when 2 or 3 guys up on ladders we holding up a sheet of sheetrock while someone drilled the screws in? I remeber when I was a kid holding a full sheet up in the air with a 2x4 brace while my Dad used an old fasioned ratching screwdriver and I couldn't hold it up any more and I left go and the sheetrock broke in half and my Dad yelling at me. The sheetrock unit makes hanging boards the best part of remodeling. I put up 20 sheets of 4x12 board on my 3rd floor by myself in the matter of days. I hung hung up 14 4x12 panels in my 17ft high ceiling garage in one day. Don't think about buying this unit.... JUST BUY IT NOW!!!! Make you friends give you lots of beer if they want to borrow this bad boy!!!!"

Drywall lift, October 15, 2007
By Seadrift from Seadrift Texas

"I am building my own place. It is a 2 story barn, with 14 foot high ceiling on the 1st floor and 8 foot high ceilings on the second floor. I am 60 years old and there was no way that I could put up the drywall without hiring help. My budget does not allow me to hire help at any price and I was not able to install the drywall on the ceiling by myself .
With the drywall lift I can work at my own pace and easily position the drywall where I want them and then secure them without straining and without trying to do it in a hurry.
Without the drywall lift system from Northern I would not have been able to complete this project. Thank you Northern."
