The screw is still in the tire!,

"My tire was slowly leaking air. After a quick inspection, I noticed a small screw head on the surface of the tire. This tire still had half the tread life so I didn’t want to buy a new tire yet but it was leaking to the point where I needed to top it off with air every 3-4 days. My mechanic said that the hole was too big to patch and now the head of the screw had broken off. I was determined to not buy a tire yet. I figured I'd try Slime. The instructions recommend removing the object and that Slime should fill any hole less than ¼” in diameter. I removed the screw, added Slime and filled the tire with air. I could hear the air coming out of the hole as I drove it around the neighborhood! Now I was desperate. I got back to the house and screwed the screw back into the hole with needle nose pliers. I sprayed the screw with soapy water and could see the suds bubbling ever so slightly. I took another lap around the neighborhood and the leak stopped! Slime filled in those little gaps around the screw! That was 4 weeks ago. I can still see 1/8" diameter of the screw flush with the surface of the tire and I haven't put air in it since! Probably not the solution recommended by the manufacturer but this will save me from having to buy new tires until the Fall."
