sons mini bike,
November 4, 2009
By simpson

"My son purchased this mini bike a few months ago for riding on some property we have for camping. It is packaged very well most of the assembly is done for you except the front end. It assembled easily and started up right away with no problems. He would not get off the thing until it ran out of gas.
The only problem that I do see with it is that it has a small engine that really doesn't have enough torque to climb hills very well, especially with a heavier child. It is very well suited for flat terrain and lighter children but if your kids are near the weight limitations of the mini bike I would seriously recommend either getting the next size larger mini bikes that are available from this manufacturer or I would recommend buying and installing a torque converter that you can get through Northern or other go cart suppliers. This is what we plan to do with ours unless I simply put the larger 5.5 hp motor from our go kart on it.
Even with this low torque engine I would still buy it again in a heartbeat because it is still cheaper than buying one of the minibike kits that are available and they do not come with an engine. Replacement parts are readily available from Baja and are not too expensive.
As long as you're using it on relatively flat terrain and realize it's weight limits I would recommend it. Your kids will love it, and you'll get them away from the tv as long as you keep it full of gas.

"The Mini Bike arrived at the house in a heavy duty shipping carton free of any damage. I unpacked the Mini Bike and started the final assembly using the easy to follow instructions, twenty minutes later I'm checking the oil level and filling the tank with fuel.Next, grandson then gets his safety lecture and straps his helmet on,then its the fuel valve on,choke on,third pull of the start cord and we are idling, choke off,and he gives the throttle a twist and off he goes, thanks Northern tool & equipment for helping grandpa look like a champ."

"Good little bike overall my 10 year old daughter loves it. I did have to tweak the carb on it after it warmed up, stalled out otherwise. The box showed up damaged and taped together. Missing some washers which I had some on hand. Not sure if Northern got the box this way or if UPS had a tough time shipping it. Ether way I would buy another one, but I would try to get it from a Northern store instead of online if I could help it."

"I"I purchased it on line and picked it up at the Store. Fast Customer Service, Light weight. Vary Nice starter bike for the Grand Kids. Ease assembly, Front end, the rest was pre assembled.
Packing Oil change & The Carburetor needed adjusting, and so our Son tweaked the engine a tad and now it will get up to 30-35 mph: ) He rides it as much as the kids do!
Well Built and Simple . Great for the price. LOTS of FUN."

great for kids,
February 24, 2009

"The Baja mini bike is great for kids to learn how to ride a powered bike without going to the expence of a motorcycle at first.
It was very easy to set up and get running. It does require some tweaking to run right.
The one detractor is that it does not like to run unless the choke is set to about half. This causes a rich mixture and fouls the plug after an hour or so but this seems to be getting better as the motor breaks in. Also a hotter range plug seen to also help.
