"Outstanding value. Equals or exceeds similar name brand models in quality, construction and function at a very reasonable price (on sale). Unit is capable of powering a framing nailer."

"Don't be mislead by oil-less 'teflon ring' compressors, this compressor relies on tried and proven technology. The oil bath crankcase and cast iron bore will out last several oil-less ones. The only real maintenance is checking the oil level in the sight glass [each use!], keeping the air filter clean and blowing out the motor occassionally, Since the motor and compressor are fan cooled most heat related problems are minimized. Granted it weighs more than the oil-less models yet the extra reliability is worth it. Make sure to use synthetic oil which will triple the pumps life and avoid fouling of the valves. I have noticed no blow-by after several months of daily use of staple, airbrushing, and light die grinding.
If you plan on doing a lot of spray painting or hi-consumption air tools a model with a larger tank maybe a better option to reduce motor recycle times and prolong motor/pressure switch life.
Avoid any unit that has an oil pressure switch like switch to control motor/pump cycling, these switches a pure junk and unserviceable not commonly stocked.
My background includes servicing IR, Worthington, Joy 5000 PSI SCUBA diving compressors, and low pressure 200 PSI and below units."

"This is a great little compressor, compact design fits perfectly in the small space I had available. Using to maintain air pressure in a small sprinkler system. I looked at several units but this was the best price and size. This was my first online purchase with Northern Tool, the process was fast and easy, and I received the product quickly. I would definitely recommend this compressor."
