THe best splitter In the World,
November 19, 2006
By WhiteWalnutFarms

"I have used this splitter for over 200 hours and have not hat to repair anything. All i do is tow it to the wood pile start it up (it starts on the first pull) and start cutting. it has plenty of power to split any size log into any size piece of firewood. i have used the four way wedge and strongly reccomend it. The commercial grade 9.5 horse power engine is amazing it gets great gass mileage and will cut forever without running out of fuel.
The best splitter for your money"

Best I Have ever seen,
November 3, 2009
By Brake
from Pinetops NC
"I have been splitting wood for 25 years. I have used a splitter that runs off a tractor that did very well. BUT this unit will split wood that we would nit be able to split with the other unit. It will not jam up. I have never seen the forks of black gum split until now. A man that works for me said were has this been our whole life. We split twice as much wood in two hours than we have ever done before. A great peace of equipment!!"

37 Ton splitter,
November 2, 2009
By Woody182
from Greenwood, Indiana
"I read a lot of reviews before buying this. It splits like a charm. Most of the time it starts on the first pull, a couple of times I had to pull it twice. You can't beat the quality of a Honda engine. Some owners said that hydraulic lines have worn where they touch each other or I-beam. I put plastic tubing around the lines in those areas to prevent potential wear. This splitter is the best investment I've made in a long time."

big splitter,

By johnt011

"I purchased the 37 Ton Splitter for a Rental Equipment business and it has been great. I added the splitter wedge as an customer incentive and it too has worked well. The only weak spot seems to be the bolt that attaches the splitter to the Ram due to length of the ram not making full contact inside the wedge cylinder. I added a large flat washer and it has worked fine. It does flatten the washer over a period of heavy use. I would recommend this to anyone who has a lot of splitting to do!"

NorthStar 37 Ton,
October 27, 2009
"This thing is great! I can't compare to some of the other 'professional' brands out there like Brave or Timberwolf, but I can't find one thing wrong with this log splitter. I wanted something with the GX engine on it, but couldn't justify the prices of a 'professional' brand...which I researched a lot. It splits anything I throw at it...hickory, oak, really crotchety pieces, etc. I was splitting oak/hickory rounds that were still wet 16-18" tall and 22-26" in diameter. Hot knife through butter...that's all I have to say. :)
- Assembly was not difficult (took about 2 hours). But do make sure you have a friend around to help lift the i beam vertically.
- The low idle control is a really nice feature.
- Not too difficult to move around despite it's weight.
- Engine starts on first pull every time.
- 4 way wedge is a worthwhile accessory.
The only complaint that I have (and it's not really with the splitter) is that I wish the 4 way wedge was more of a slip-on/slip-off.
In retrospect, I really could have bought the 30 Ton and have been just as happy."

The Beast,
October 19, 2009
By CDunes
from Stillwater, Oklahoma
"We have been cuting and splitting wood for 3 decades and this splitter is by far the best yet. Weight is balanced making it easy to move and set up. The two stage pump tears through knots and stumps. The automatic idle saves fuel. We normally split 150-200 rick per year and have just gotten started this year. Most of our splitters require welding and repair at the end of the season. This splitter may make it though the whole season and we hope it will last 5 years rather than the 2-3 years for past splitters. I have not found a better splitter for the money."

1109 log splitter,
September 12, 2009
By splitterman
from new milford ct
"heavy to at first to move around ,dolly helpful,(splitter in crate) simple mechanical knowledge is helpful point of interest is make sure you have engine mount on the correct side (I didn"t) hose from oil resevoir was to long had to cut 3 inches off it,other than that things went together smoothly,o yea make sure you unpack everything before you say I'm missing some parts, they hide them in the stabilizer legs,I didn't unwrap them. The power is a little on the underpowered I didn't get the big motor. you have to take into account that I have the 4 way splitter ! 4 pieces of wood at once time !! it has a good honda motor started first pull, one more thing be careful of the gas tank, wood coming back on the return cycle may hit it . it's a good log splitter"

very pleased,
September 11, 2009
By Ironmike
from Decatur, Indiana
"I have used many splitters over the years and this model is by far the best. Plenty of power, more than you'll ever need. And the whole unit is made very heavy and sturdy, as if the manufacturer wanted to overkill. The idle control feature is very nice, too. Assembly was not terribly difficult, but two people makes a difference. I would have something like a hoist to help support the cylinder during assembly. We put it together in about 4 hours. It is not difficult to move about, but because of the weight, I installed a jack stand with a wheel, which makes moving it around very easy. I can't imagine this machine bogging down with a piece of wood. It will go through anything."
