Poor Quality Construction,
August 21, 2008
By Cottrofrom Connecticut
"I purchased 2 of these pumps. In both cases the bottom screen cracked and pieces fell off - causing the pump to easily clog. If this part was better made these would have been an excellent buy - but with a broken bottom screen they are only good for picking up clear water."

Submersible Pump - 1/8 HP,
August 15, 2008
By clancefrom Ruidoso, NM
"I have a cistern water supply system for my primary residence. Once or twice a year I may have to haul water to keep the system operational. I do this with a 220 gallon tank in the back of an old suburban. It takes 10 minutes to fill the tank at an artesian well. Because the storage tanks are under the house I have to back the suburban over rocks and around trees to get as close as I can. I use a 3/4 inch garden hose and gravity to empty the tank. It takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. With this pump I use the same hose and park the suburban in the driveway. It takes 15 minutes to empty the tank. It makes life a little easier. The pump works as advertized."

Submersible pump,
August 11, 2008
By WannabeHandyManfrom Flemington, NJ
"I was in need of a submersible pump to deliver water through a 3/8 inch tube that fed a nozzle hooked to a water slide from my pool. The slide is about 10 feet high and I was worried that the pump may not have the pressure to deliver an adequate flow through the small tube. However, this pump worked great and kept a good stream of water flowing down the slide. I'll also be using it to drain water off the pool cover in the winter. The pump can pump out the cover down to an eight of an inch which should be good enough. I tried it on my solar cover and it worked great. I would recommend it to any one needing a cheap pump. The delivery went without a hitch and I received it in about 4 days with standard shipping."

Great pump for the price,
August 11, 2008
By Howardxfrom Willingboro, NJ
"The pump came with several adapters so it was easy to find a compatible hose to use with it. I needed the pump to drain an outdoor fountain for routine cleaning - I didn't care if it took a few minutes to get all the water out. Instead, it was emptied in about 5 seconds - I was amazed at the speed and the pressure. The pump does come with precautions that it is not intended for continuous use but it does meet my needs perfectly."

Great little pump!,
August 11, 2008
By Fjordstonefrom Malvern, PA
"We've had pumps for our pool cover before -- this is the pump we use to keep the water level down during the winter, so we don't get water (and thus ice) on the cover -- but usually they quit after a season, and they don't work very well overall. This pump was excellent from the get-go. It pumps water amazingly fast and efficiently, and the construction makes us think it's going to last a good long time. A great value, and a great purchase."

Awesome Little Pump,
August 11, 2008
By Longislandresidentfrom Holbrook, NY
"We purchased this pump to drain the water from the top of our swimming pool cover. It performs quickly and efficiently. This summer we had to change our swimming pool liner. It drained the pool so quickly. My neighbor was in awe and even borrowed our pump so he could use it to drain the top of his pool cover before opening it for the season. I'm sure there are many other applications for this product, however, we purchased this product solely for pumping water for our pool cover and it has worked seamlessly. I would definately recommend this product and it was very reasonably priced. It arrived quickly and was packaged well. Kudos Northern Tool!"

"I am very disappointed in this pump. The propeller on the shaft stripped out not long after beginning to use the pump and parts are not readily available so I have to disgard the whole pump."

So Easy,
August 11, 2008
By CraftyCASfrom Poughkeepsie, NY
"I purchased this pump last April to drain many feet of water off the swimmimg pool cover and pump it back into the pool under the cover. This pump was a lifesaver! It is very light weight, simple to hook up and easy to manuever. It is powerful and moved the water much faster than I expected. It is very quiet and appears well built. The only improvement I could have asked for was some kind of dirt filter (I'm thinking I might try pantyhose?). It did tend to suck in a few pine needles, but these were picked out fairly easily. Overall, couldn't ask for more in such an inexpensive pump."

"Great pump for the price! I use it to drain water from my pool cover. I also transfer water from my pool to the inflatable kids pool . Its great because the water is ready to use for the kids. Also for draining the kids pool when they are done with it. I recommend this product to anyone."

Great pump for the price,
April 24, 2008
By TheGommerfrom Central Arkansas
"I saw the price on this unit and said its to good to be true. Well it its works just fine I've used the pump twice both times for 3 to 4 hours and it just goes and goes. I know little nothing about pumps I own one other I plummed under the house, when I received this pump I was worried when it starts and as it pumps water (a small amount) comes out a wheep hole on the side of the unit. All I could think was if water is coming out the wheep hole, that there has to be a problem. I called in and no one was for sure so they had me send it back. Customer service was great. The new pump does the same, so it must be made that way. Anyway I've pumped several thousand gal. of rain water and i'm glad I found it ."

"This pump does a wonderful job in small ponds and hot tubs. I use water pumps at my jobsite all the time. They are usaully heavy and bulky, but this little pump is light and easy to use. It is great for pumping out clean rain water down to with in a 1/4 of an inch."

Submersible Pump,

By equallyfrom Panhandle Florida
"The pump works great, it's reasonably quiet and pumps fast and works in shallow water. It comes with three output connectors, unfortunately the screw connection that attaches the them to the pump is weak. I couldn't use the o-ring it came with at all, without the o-ring it works but not well."

"This pump works great, and compared to a lot of them out there, its a great value. This is my second one I've bought, and they've done what I need. The only tidbit I'd add, is make sure you keep it clean! The first one I had the plastic impeller broke because of leave debris..."

"As well as pumping well, I ran the pump dry a couple of times without damage. Woops!! Very pleased with this product and the accessory connector. Perfect for getting the rain water off the pool cover. I just connect the garden hose and plug it in. Pumps a massive amount of water in a short time. alot better than my siphon."

"Great deal on a submersible pump. Save your money. Don't buy from a pool store or anywhere else. Gets the job done with ease. More powerful than the Jacuzzi brand that it replaced."
