Great Product,

"I recently installed a backup generator system using this transfer switch and was extremely pleased with both the quality of the unit and the ease of installation. It is ideally sized for my needs, which include a well pump, hot water tank, sump, freezer, refrigerator, microwave and miscellaneous.
My only wish is that you could order the unit with 20 Amp breakers in place of the 15 Amp ones that are supplied. My first step was to swap these out.
Overall, it's a great product that is easy to install and use."

Transfer Switch easy to install and use,
November 18, 2008
By DavefromOhio

"Installation of this transfer switch was straight forward and easy to understand for those who feel comfortable working around electrical wiring. The switch operation is easy to understand for even the novice homeowner. This unit is built solid and is certainly a value-added product. Although I had no problem understanding the installation instructions, they could be made a little clearer and detailed for the everyday user."

Reliance Q510C Transfer Switch,
September 23, 2008
By Rooster54

"Very solidly built. Strong switches, and fairly easy for a good home handyman to hook up. Just make sure you have your power off when connecting it up, for safety reasons.
Got a chance to put this unit to good hard use following Hurricane Ike.
So far, the unit has worked flawlessly.
I really like that there are real breakers in it, and they are interchangeable.
The leads for connecting the unit into your power panel could be a little longer, but other than that, I have to give this unit a 5/5.

"I use this both at my house for emergency power and at my ranch for my cabin power off my generator. It takes the guessing out of power use and easy to read meter for distribution of amps."

Reliance Transfer Switch,
July 13, 2008
By Highpwr

"I purchased this transfer switch about a year and a half ago, along with my generator. I've had a few power outages since then and an opportunity to see just how well this unit would handle suppling power to my home. In a word - flawless. The switches are built well enough to handle heavy starting loads (A/C, refrigerators, furnace motors, etc.) without any arcing or popping type noises. The built in watt meters are a real plus in being able to balance your electrical loads, and total load on your generator, in order to keep an eye on things.
The REAL test came during our last big storm when a few large tree limbs fell and knocked down the service line to my house. Went to sleep that evening on generator power, and was awakened early in the AM by the power company to tell me my power line was back up. They let my generator run the entire time they worked on re-connecting my house to the pole - so I know there was no feedback to the grid for them to worry about. Otherwise they would have shut it down the moment they got there. The switch does it's job, and does it well...

"Great product and price. Easy to hook up even if you only know a little about electricty. What I like is that once it is installed, you do not have to worry about
the power companys feed. I tested all the circuits, and they work fine.
Also, for my wife, I just told her all up or all down and don't worry about it.

Ready for Power!,
July 10, 2007
"The Reliance Transfer Switch 10 Circuit, 50 Amp, Model # Q510C is easy to install even for a non-professional electrician like me. Keeping in mind that the power is turned off when installing. The instructions are clear and understandable to the regular person who has basic understanding about electrical wiring. Everything about this product is well built from the heavy steel box to the solid circuit breakers that can be changed to suit your electrical needs. For example from a 15 Amp breaker to a 20 Amp breaker. (More power!) ARRR! ARRR! ARRR!!! Not like the push button circuit breakers you get with cheeper transfer switches. Just remember to do your research on your power needs and wants. And if all else fails call an certified electrician."
